Ambassador
Deputy Chief of the Mission of Japan to the EU
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

Date and Time: Wednesday, 4th November 2009, 9:00-10:20
Venue: #5102 No.5 Bod. (AV Centre) 1F, Kodaira Campus, Tsuda College

Dr. Takako UETA, Ambassador, gave a well-received lecture on the overall organization of the EU. She also discussed preparations within the EU for the next step of integration, as well as touching on the new relationships between the EU and Asia, especially with Japan. The lecture has a unique insight into life in Brussels.
There were approximately 60 participants, including alumnae, students of the universities in the EUSI/EUIJ consortium, and members of the public. Dr. UETA took many questions after the presentation. The feedback from the audience was quite favourable: one participant commented that, "It is an extremely timely and meaningful lecture as the Czech President has signed the Treaty of Lisbon, and we have a chance to deepen and broaden our understanding about the EU."
