Mr. Rudie FILON, First Secretary, Head of Press, Public and Cultural Affairs of Delegation of the European Union to Japan, gave a lecture that was split into three parts as follows:
- Overview of EU history
- The Lisbon Treaty
- Toward an East Asian Community
Drawing on a wealth of experience representing the EU in Japan and China, the lecture considered the future of Asia from a comparative respect in a most timely and thought-provoking fashion.
Over 70 participants, including students, alumnae and the business men and women, attended the Saturday afternoon session at Tsuda College's Sendagaya Campus, some travelling from as far away as Niigata and Shizuoka.
Adopting an interactive style, Mr. Filon encouraged questions and positive audience participation. Even after the lecture, many participants enjoyed talking with the Mr. Filon at the tea room.
