Dr. Angela Romano

Biographical Note
Dr. Angela Romano graduated in Political Sciences at the University of Florence in 2002. She obtained her Ph.D. in International History from the University of Florence in 2006.
Dr. Romano was a lecturer of International Organizations in 2007/2008 and a contract Professor of History of North America in 2008/2009, both at the University of Florence.
She was also a lecturer of History and Politics of Modern Italy at the International Studies Institute at Palazzo Rucellai, Florence (Spring 2008, Spring 2009) and a tutor of History of International Organizations for the Syracuse University, Florence (Spring and Autumn 2008).
She is the author of the book, "From Détente in Europe to European Détente. How the West Shaped the Helsinki CSCE", Bruxelles, P.I.E. Peter Lang, 2009, as well as of several articles and chapters in edited volumes.

Research Interests
Her current research fields of interest include: European Political Cooperation (EPC); external relations of the EC/EU, particularly with the Soviet bloc; transatlantic relations; détente; CSCE.

Dr. Kanna Ito
lecturer, Faculty of Economics, Meiji Gakuin University

Biographical Note
Kanna ITO graduated in Economics from Nagoya University in 1992. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economic History from Nagoya University in 2000, with a dissertation on "The Banking and Industrial Reforms in Interwar Italy", supervised by Prof. Yuichi KANAI.
For her ph.D. work, she received a JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Research Fellowships for Young Scientists and the Italian Government Scholarship for her study at University of Milan under the supervision of Prof. Angelo MOIOLI (1997-98).
She was a Foreign Student Advisor /a Lecturer at Nagoya University from 2002 to 2007 and has been a lecturer in European Economic History at Meijigakuin University since 2009.

Research Interests
Her current research interest is about the Economic History of Italy in the 20th Century: specializes in the international monetary cooperation in the postwar period and the European integration process.
