Biographical Note:
Dr. Angela Romano graduated in Political Sciences at the University of Florence in 2002. She obtained her Ph.D. in International History from the University of Florence in 2006.
Dr. Romano was a lecturer of International Organizations in 2007/2008 and a contract Professor of History of North America in 2008/2009, both at the University of Florence.
She was also a lecturer of History and Politics of Modern Italy at the International Studies Institute at Palazzo Rucellai, Florence (Spring 2008, Spring 2009) and a tutor of History of International Organizations for the Syracuse University, Florence (Spring and Autumn 2008).
She is the author of the book, "
From Détente in Europe to European Détente. How the West Shaped the Helsinki CSCE", Bruxelles, P.I.E. Peter Lang, 2009, as well as of several articles and chapters in edited volumes.
Research Interests:
Her current research fields of interest include: European Political Cooperation (EPC); external relations of the EC/EU, particularly with the Soviet bloc; transatlantic relations; détente; CSCE.

Graduating Faculty of Law, Hitotsubashi University, in 1994;
Acquiring PhD from Department of History, Graduate School, Rutgers, State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick, in 2004;
Working at Global Studies Program, Akita International University since 2005, and occupying current post since 2009.

Ryosuke Amiya-Nakada is Professor of Comparative Politics at Meiji Gakuin University. After graduate study at the Graduate School of Law and Politics of the University of Tokyo, he served as a research associate at the University of Tokyo. Then he taught at the Kobe University from 1996 to 2006 before moving to Meiji Gakuin. His recent research interest centered around the development and characteristics of EU social policy. He has been also conducting a JSPS-funded research project on the transformation of European party politics. |
